what do you do for self care
Hi!! Yes, I’m going to make a guide for self-care eventually when I have time because I feel like there are a lot of things I’ve learned over the past year (I have like a list of things I want to include in a self care guide, but I’m so slow with getting everything done), but here is some general advice in the mean time:
1) Get plenty of sleep
Don’t delude yourself into thinking you can function properly with 4 hours of sleep because that’s what I did last year. You get to a point though where you constantly feel tired in day to day tasks, and think it’s completely normal. Try and get more sleep! It’s good for you! There is definitely an improvement in my health since I’ve gotten more sleep, but now that I’ve started reverting to my previous habits, I find myself starting to get sick.2) Do something you enjoy
I don’t mean that you should constantly procrastinate and spend your day browsing through tumblr instead of starting homework. I mean disciplining yourself properly, and organizing your time wisely. Take an hour out of your week to do something you enjoy. Have you not had time to read lately? Spend the hour reading. Did you have this new hobby you always wanted to try out? Go for it!3) Exercise
Last year, I barely exercised at all. I spend at least 10 minutes a day exercising now, and it’s nice. You don’t need to spend a good amount of your time exercising, but try it for a few minutes every day. Exercising can help boost your mood and your energy4) Read self care books!
Okay, yeah, this advice might seem kind of obvious for you, or maybe it’s something you haven’t really considered. I’ve been getting into self care books lately, and I feel like I learn a lot from them.
